Nkululeko Sowazi

Board Chairman

Nkululeko Sowazi is the chairman of KTH, a leading South African Investment holding company with significant interests in the media, financial services and resources sectors. KTH was formed in July 2011 following the merger of two leading black-owned investment firms, KTI and Tiso Group, with combined gross assets of R15-billion. Nkululeko was the executive chairman and co-founder of Tiso Group, which was formed in 2001 and grew to a multibillion-rand investment company by the time the merger was concluded. He is a non-executive director of the JSE-listed companies Grindrod Limited and Litha Healthcare Group Limited. He serves as a non-executive director of Actom Holdings Proprietary Limited and Idwala Industrial Holdings Proprietary Limited. Nkululeko also works with a number of not-for-profit organisations.

Qualifications

BA Degree in Economics and a MA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

David Adomakoh

Non-Executive Director

David Adomakoh is the chairman of TIH, a co-founder of Tiso Group, and served as its group managing director. He is a former director of Chase Manhattan Limited, London; head of the Chase Manhattan Bank, Southern Africa; executive director of Robert Fleming Holdings South Africa Limited; and head of Africa Corporate Finance at JPMorgan. Chase Bank, NA Johannesburg branch. He serves as a non-executive director of KTH and chairman of its Investment and Valuation Committee, and as a non-executive director of Nedbank Group Limited and Vanguard Group Limited (Ghana). He has 25 years’ experience in executive management and investment banking, including principal investing, corporate and project finance advisory work, debt capital raising, and financial derivatives in a number of countries in Africa and Europe.

Qualifications

BSc (Econs) Hons (London School of Economics) and Diplôme de Langue et de Civilisation (La Sorbonne, Université de Paris).

Joe Asamoah

Chief Executive Officer

Joe is a seasoned banker with extensive experience in Trade Finance. His areas of expertise cover Business Strategy, Credit Risk Management, and Supply Chain Finance. He has over 20 years’ experience in the financial sector having worked for some of the biggest local and international banks.

Qualifications

Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Science & Technology, Ghana and a Master’s Degree in Management and Information Systems (Finance and Economics) from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, London, UK.

Fumani Mathebula

Chief Investment Officer

Fumani has extensive experience in transactional banking and management consulting. He has worked for international consulting firms, as well as local and international banks with a focus on Business Development, Cash Management and Trade Finance.

Qualifications

Fumani holds a BSc Degree with majors in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He also holds a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) Degree from the University of South Africa.

Ntombifuthi Mabuza

Executive Head: Finance and Administration

Ntombi has extensive experience in audit, financial reporting, internal control, tax and accounting. Her experience includes the following industries: mining, healthcare, investment, media and the public sector.

Qualifications

Ntombi is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a post graduate diploma in accounting sciences (CTA) from the University of South Africa.

Karabo Tshailane Nondumo

Non - Executive Director

Karabo is an entrepreneur who has interests in provision of Industrial supplies & Investments. She is an Executive director of Soraspace Capital and non-executive Director and shareholder of Safic (Pty) Ltd, a leading environmentally friendly manufacturer of cleaning chemicals and equipment supplier to all major market segments throughout Africa. She held Executive Head roles within Vodacom Business and Mergers & Acquisitions at Vodacom Group. She’s a previous CEO of AWCA Investment Holdings Limited. She was an associate as well as executive assistant to chairman at Shanduka Group. A qualified Chartered Accountant, member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA). She has extensive experience in Telecommunications, Financial Services and Mining sectors. She is an independent non-executive director of: Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd (Chair: Social & Ethics, member of Investment, Nominations and Audit & Risk subcommittees), Sanlam Ltd (Chair: Social and Ethics, member of Risk & Compliance, Audit & Actuarial, HR and Nominations subcommittees), TCI-Tiso (Pty) Ltd (Chair: Finance & Risk committee), MTN Group Operating companies in Swaziland, Zambia, Uganda and Rwanda (Chair: Audit and Risk committees) She is an advisory member of Senatla Capital, a trustee of Mabindu and Ubuntu-Botho Women’s Trusts. Previous Board roles include MTN Group Operating companies in Sudan and South Sudan, Brightrock Holdings Ltd, Merafe Resources Ltd, SA Express Airways SOC Ltd, Rolfes Holdings Ltd, Richards Bay Coal Terminal

Qualifications

Ms Nondumo obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Natal in 1999 and her Higher Diploma in Accounting from Wits University in 2000. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003.
